Shakti Yoga Dance is a sacred movement form which implements insights drawn from Yogic philosophy to awaken and embody principles of harmonious movement. Its roots come from Kundalini Yoga and was developed by life long dancer and thirty years Yoga practitioner Sarah Avtar Oliver.

This beautiful meditative practice cultivates the free organic and creative expression of inner being. It gently opens and rebalances the subtle vital currents of the body through a fluid blend of deeply connective inward focused flowing Asanas, different dance styles, rhythmic co-ordination and breathing techniques interwoven with ancient Mantra, voice work and other sound frequencies.

The process of Shakti Yoga Dance is taught in eight phases, one phase energetically flowing in to the next. However the Asana’s can also be delivered as a class in their own right.
