Sound has the capacity to touch us at a very deep level. It can shine light on our inner landscape and resonate our state of being in a powerful way.
A passive sound immersion can take you on a journey in to the realms of your inner self, unravelling, opening, revealing and giving expression to the parts of you that lay hidden in the shadows.
GROUP SOUND IMMERSIONS
You are invited to lay down on a mat, get warm and cosy under a blanket and to close your eyes. Then, after being led through some simple relaxation techniques you will be bathed in the pure tones produced by instruments such as Himalayan and pure quartz crystal alchemy singing bowls, gongs, voice, kochi chimes and other percussive instruments as they are sensitively woven together in intervals to reverberate over, around and throughout your entire body giving you a subtle massage that calms and soothes your body, mind and soul.

SO HOW DOES IT WORK?
Vibrational medicine is an ancient sacred practice that predates language. For thousands of years cultures from around the world have used sound vibration to treat illness, revitalise the body and to lift the spirit.
In simple terms, beyond your flesh, blood and boney body you are made of cells. Cells are made of molecules, molecules are made of atoms and atoms are made from sub-atomic particles which are forms of energy.. In essence you are an energy field vibrating as a body and this is why sound vibrations can be a powerful tool to precipitate healing.
Sound is a spherical vibration and science shows us that everything in the universe is composed of different forms of structured vibrations, the human body being no exception.
Being composed of 70-80% water (depending on our levels of hydration), we are great conductors of sound. Sonic vibrational frequencies travel through our bodies with ease and can create changes in the autonomic, immune, endocrine and neuropeptide systems. Every atom, molecule, cell, gland and organ of the body absorbs and transmits sound.
Studies have shown that among the wave patterns produced by different singing bowls for example there is a measurable wave pattern to the alpha wave patterns produced by the brain. Alpha brain states instil a sense of deep relaxation, relieve stress and increase mental awareness. As the parasympathetic nervous system begins to be influenced self healing processes are thus elevated. A state of inner stillness can ensue as the inner critic/chatterbox mind quietens. This allows for reflection, deeper listening and the possibility to expand beyond pain, turmoil and the conditioning that forms self limiting beliefs. A true state of being-ness is thus available as cells vibrate at a more resonant frequency achieved by entrainment.
Like other forms of Yoga and meditation, using sound regularly as a therapeutic practice can help you to manage stress, to relax both the mind and body and expand your consciousness so that you can re-connect with the natural flow of life.
As well as my own group sessions I am available to work on retreats and one-to-one in people’s homes…please get in touch
UPCOMING SOUND IMMERSIONS
Please arrive quietly in to the space from 7.15pm onwards. Wear loose comfortable clothing, bring a bottle of water, a mat to lay on, a cushion for your head and blankets/sleeping bag to be warm and cosy. The hall will be heated but as you will be laying down your temperature is likely to drop. Therefore it is best that you have layers that you can take off rather than too few. The more comfortable you are, the more you will relax in to receiving the sound frequencies.
